Introduction

During the runtime of an installer it can be necessary to open Windows Control Panel entries.

With some exceptions (like Open Services panel) most control panel icons are implemented as .cpl files. Modern Windows operating systems come with a tool called rundll32.exe which can be used to open these files.

Invokation

The following command opens the 'Add/Remove Programs' control panel entry:

rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL Appwiz.cpl

Using Inno Setup's [Run] section

[Run]
Filename: "{sys}\rundll32.exe"; Parameters: "shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL Appwiz.cpl"
